Everything you need to know about AW 19/20 Fashion Trends

Sourcing new items of clothing each season is one of our most favourite parts of this job. Discovering new brands and rediscovering trends of the past are equally exciting with Autumn and Winter buying being our most loved season here at Travelling Bazaar.

This year we have been blown away by the sheer number of trends we were exposed too whilst on our buying adventures. With versatility abound, the trends feel accessible to most women regardless of your personal style and situation. We have curated our new range to cover all styles be it minimalist or maximalist, we have plenty to fill your boots (and bags!). The same goes for colours, love them or hate them, we have tonnes to suit the understated amongst us as well as the overstated. And it wouldn’t be Travelling Bazaar without a beautiful collection of dresses and blouses to enter the new season with, we have sourced floral maxi dresses as well as Princess Anne style blouses, both of which can be dressed up or down depending on your occasion. We are all about versatility here, to allow you to get maximum wear out of your investment pieces.

Munthe boot leg corduroy trousers

Munthe boot leg corduroy trousers

We were delighted to see the return of an old favourite, corduroy, this season. Corduroy has come a long way from how we remember it and is such a comfortable, easy to wear fabric. We have chosen a number of different styles of corduroy trousers to suit all body shapes in a stunning array of autumnal rich colours. We have high waisted , wine coloured cords from two of our  favourite brands Second Female and Munthe sitting alongside jumbo cord, boot leg styles from a new brand to Travelling Bazaar “Hod”. A great find, Hod delivers fabulous style at accessible prices.

Going bold with our knitwear

Whilst we’ve been enjoying this late summer sunshine, we’ve also been secretly yearning for those cooler nights to return to give us an excuse to cosy up with a beautiful knit. And this season we’re going bold! We have fully embraced the posh punk vibe emulated in Munthe’s bright pink and black striped sweater and Second Female’s tomato red & camel striped cardigan. The Danes are  owning knitwear trends this season!

If bold isn’t for you, then fear not, as we hear you! We’ve chosen a fitted, vintage inspired, pointell style of sweater, finished off with the most delightful gold detailing around the neckline. Suncoo is leading the way with this style of jumper. We’ll be styling these “dolly knits” with high waisted cords and lurex maxi skirts by a new to us Danish brand,  Lolly’s Laundry. Lolly’s style is fun yet luxurious pieces, affordable to most of us, we love this brand and think you will too.

Pussy bow blouses are back!

An interesting trend, that may not be for all of us, but one that we wanted to offer as the choices out there are absolutely stunning! We’ve carefully selected a wide range of statement blouses from the wild and bold Austin Powers prints to lurex detailing sitting alongside interesting necklines and sleeve detailing that will suit all shapes. We’re loving the high neck Victoriana style, however conscious that many of us women find this style too restrictive, we’ve introduced a white Suncoo version that cleverly allows you to unbutton at the neck.

Stylish Coats to keep you warm

We’re super proud of our selection of coats this season, we’ve gone glorious and varied in all styles and fabrics. From voluminous puffas from Aigle to luxurious faux fur teddy bear coats in rich midnight blue and cream from Suncoo.  If you prefer a more pared down tailored coat then we have some stylish wool coats available from both American Vintage and Suncoo (think uber French brand Celine). Whatever you desire this season, we will have something just right for you.
